Academics
Monmouth University, located in West Long Branch, New Jersey, was founded in 1933 âto provide opportunity for higher education to area high school graduates who, in those Depression-era days, could not afford to go away to college.â This tradition of accessibility remains a cornerstone of Monmouth Universityâs mission. Many students in the MBA program also received their undergraduate degrees from Monmouth University, and listed location, convenience, competitiveness, and good professors as the primary strengths of Monmouth Universityâs Leon Hess Business School.
Professors are âvery knowledgeable in their fieldsâ and their real life work experience âgives them the chance to share real-life business scenarios with studentsâ and discuss âhow particular topics were handled.â Students found this much more helpful than âjust reading case studies or chapters in a text book.â Monmouth offers âvast course offerings and times,â and students say that the administration âwill add classes if multiple students need themâ and that both professors and the administration are âvery accommodating to working professionals.â One student found the professors helpful, but thought the material they taught was âdated,â and the classes âeasy and unchallenging.â
In addition, students have access âto a variety of âreal worldâ experts,â including the âH.R. Young Lecture Series, the Accounting Club Speakers, the Finance Club Speaker, the S.B. Siegel Lecture Series.â
